VBT Celebrates BGC Tigers 12U Basketball Team Championship Win

On March 30th, the VBT Community erupted in cheers and celebrations as the Boys and Girls Club Tigers 12U basketball team won their first-ever championship victory, capping off an undefeated season under the expert guidance of Coach Lillard.

Throughout the season, Coach Lillard demonstrated exceptional leadership, molding a group of talented young individuals into a cohesive and formidable team. Their unwavering commitment to the game of basketball was evident in every match they played.

The championship game against the Lions proved to be a nail-biting affair, as the Lions had come close to defeating the Tigers during the regular season. However, with resilience and determination, coupled with halftime adjustments, the Tigers secured a hard-fought victory to claim the coveted 12U basketball championship title.

Individual performances shone brightly, with players Davion Jackson and Christian White standing out for their exceptional skills on the court. Jackson's stellar performance earned him the prestigious MVP title in the 3C Sports League, while White's outstanding contributions landed him a spot on the league's first team.

In recognition of his outstanding coaching prowess, Coach Leonta' Lillard was honored with the 'Coach of the Year' award by the 3C Sports League, a testament to his dedication and tireless efforts in shaping the team's success.
